Class Notes 9/26

Today we worked in our groups on more estimation and how we can estimate with operations like addition, subtraction and multiplication. We also worked on some word problems that involved estimation.

After we completed our group work we then did some estimation activities.

Today in class we finished going over the class notes for section 1-1. After we finished the notes the students worked with their groups to work on estimations with adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing.

Today in class we did our group presentations for the mathematician project. Along with the presentations we started our lesson on estimation of whole numbers.

Today in class we continued our work on our group mathematician projects. We have one more class dedicated to working on the project and we will present the projects on Tuesday 9/20.

Today in class we went to the art wing and spent the class period working on our mathematician projects. We will work again on the Projects on Wednesday.

Class Notes 9/8

Today in class we went over the 6th grade Math Syllabus and the course expectations. After that the class worked in groups on their first group project of the year. The groups chose one mathematician that they will create a poster and do a research paper on and then present in front of the class.
